4.1. Overview

The myPaySystems-Pro system is extremely flexible. Because of this, it is not possible to create a step-by-step guide to setting it up. Instead, presented here is a step-by-step walkthrough of a typical implementation of myPaySystems-Pro. Also included in this section is a full listing of all input fields that can be sent to the myPaySystems-Pro processor.

The myPaySystems-Pro system expects certain input fields with specific names. For this reason, it is essential that the names of the input fields on the merchant’s web site and the myPaySystems.com web site match. All possible input fields are listed in figure 2. Fields marked with a star are mandatory, and must be sent to the myPaySystems-Pro system with every order.

As mentioned above, instead of exhausting all possible implementations of the myPaySystems- Pro system, a typical example will be used instead. In the following fictional example, a merchant has already developed a customshopping cart that the merchant would like to use with myPaySystems.com. The details of how the shopping-cart works is beyond the scope of this document. Therefore the details of how the data in the form was collected will be omitted. The HTML page in figure 3 is the checkout page of this fictional shopping-cart. The HTML code for this page is listed in appendix C to save space. The lines of interest are placed in bold. These are the lines that will be explained in detail. The following is a step-by-step guide explaining how this page was created, assuming that all formatting, consumer and product information has already been provided (by HTML links, web scripts, etc See section V). Discussion will therefore be focused on the form aspect of this page.
